21 April 2020 Virtual IEEE ICME 2020: In response to COVID-19 measures and widespread travel constraints, IEEE ICME 2020 will now be re-envisioned as a fully virtual event! Although we were looking forward to seeing you all in London, we are excited to host the first IEEE ICME fully online experience, providing wider opportunities for multimedia researchers and industry all over the world to participate. All sessions will be organized using online meeting and presentation tools. The authors of accepted papers will be asked to upload video presentations of their papers. Details will follow. General Registration: We are pleased to announce that registration is now complimentary for general participation (i.e. free for those who are not authors with accepted papers). Regardless of the fee waiver, registration is still required to participate in the online sessions.

Already Registered? Full refunds will be available for general registrations that have already been made (i.e. participants not covering any papers). Partial refunds for authors will be considered after the event if author registration fees are reduced.

The IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME) has been the flagship multimedia conference sponsored by four IEEE societies since 2000. It aims at promoting exchange of the latest advances in multimedia technologies, systems, and applications from both the research and development perspectives of the circuits and systems, communications, computer, and signal processing communities. ICME attracts well over 1000 submissions and 500 participants each year, serving as the prime forum for the dissemination of knowledge in the multimedia field. In 2020 again, ICME convenes leading researchers and practitioners to share the latest developments and advances in the discipline. The conference will showcase high quality oral and poster presentations, as well as, feature Workshops sponsored by IEEE societies. Researchers, developers and practitioners are welcomed to organise such Workshops on any new or emerging topic of Multimedia technology. An exposition of multimedia products, animations and industries will be held in conjunction with the conference. Moreover, proposals for Panels, Tutorials, Special Sessions, Collaborative Project Papers and Grand Challenges are also invited. In ICME 2020, exceptional papers and contributors will be also selected and recognised with prestigious awards.

The IEEE Transactions on Multimedia and IEEE MultiMedia magazine are partnering with IEEE ICME. Extended versions of the top-ranked ICME 2020 papers will be invited for submission and potential publication in these journals. We invite authors to submit high-quality contributions aiming at taking part in this call and to have the opportunity to publish an extended ICME paper in these prestigious journals. After the due review process, if your paper is highly ranked, the Technical Program Committee Chairs will get in touch with you regarding the next steps.

All conference authors have been encouraged to upload their data to IEEE DataPort. All attendees are invited to access the research data in IEEE DataPort. IEEE DataPort is the globally accessible IEEE data platform that enables users to store datasets, access datasets, and manage data. Data can provide insights into research and it adds value to conference papers. Go to IEEE DataPort to view the conference data today! Please note that due to the double blind review policy for ICME 2020 papers, the authors are required not to upload any material to IEEE DataPort during the review process.
